Mirage : What Do You See?
What you see is not always what you get. The modern day mirage is appealing to the eye, but is empty of anything that would satisfy. Most people take things for face value and pour their energy, time and resources into chasing the appearance of something that will make them happy.
"What are you chasing? ..."
Truth is, the things we pursue that are not tied to a vision given by the Creator, are usually rooted in an insecurity we're trying to pacify. Some seek a title or status because it makes them feel important or valued, not realizing that God has already assigned them the price tag value of 'priceless'.
Like a man in the desert, we can spend a lifetime going after what we think will quench our "thirst", only to find it's just an empty mirage apart from God. When we seek God (the source) first, He will eagerly respond to guide our steps in the right direction so that it all falls into place.
~ Matthew 6:33~
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
1. Identify ~ Take the time to reflect and be real with yourself about what's driving your pursuit.
2. Adjust ~ If it's rooted in the wrong motive, spend some time with God to help address the root and then give you His vision for your next steps
3. Maintain ~ Old habits die hard, so be intentional to surround yourself with people who want to move forward too. Otherwise you could find yourself back at square one.
